James Pellen, TL2Q’s founder and Chief Executive Officer, commenced the unclaimed property practice in 2012, and is responsible for supervising the strategic direction, management, operations, and business functions of the company. He has been involved in managing all aspects of identifying, examining, collecting, and transferring unclaimed property, including tailored engagement planning, resource allocation, research analysis, and review.
During his professional career, Mr. Pellen has been engaged in numerous corporate taxation and tax compliance multistate voluntary disclosure agreements under the Multistate Voluntary Disclosure and National Nexus Program protocols for business entities with potential tax liability in multiple states.
Mr. Pellen has over 33 years of public and private accounting experience, providing strategic accounting and tax advisory services to clients in a diverse business spectrum. This includes apparel and textile, distribution, wholesale, manufacturing, broker-dealers, retail, international tax, information technology, food industries, and consumer products. Mr. Pellen has extensive consulting experience in mergers and acquisitions, succession planning, corporate financing, organizational structure, corporate tax, and international activities including cross-border acquisition and tax transactions that included assessment of statutory tax and unclaimed property liability, and audits of introducing broker-dealers in conformity with PCAOB standards.
